I See Phone Home

Tomorrowland, Disneyland  Fall 2011 - Shot with Canon Rebel XT, Canon 50mm f1.8,  Fujicolor Superia 400

You are looking at the former tracks and loading station to my favorite ride that is no longer, The People Mover. It's been gone for over 10 years and it's still a damn shame. Along with the Mission to Mars ride that became Pizza Port.

I like how after reading the description the photo is perfect to show the empty space where there was once something.

well, there really wasn't anything where the empty space is. It's above one of the main eating places. Well.... I guess there aren't the cars on the track anymore which could fit that criteria :-)

The other major thing missing is where the little communication tower on the right used to be a ride. mostly everything mechanicly is still there on that one. It turns on and spins for a couple of minutes. It used to be the Astro Orbiter which was moved to the entrance to Tomorrowland.in case you were wondering.
Is that something Star-Wars related on the right? I recognize none of what I see in that pic...

Yeah, I didn't think you would. I was standing in front of the queue for Star Tours when I took this one. If you remember the old People mover, you can kinda see the old loading area for it, but other than that, it's different if you haven't been there in the last 15 years
