Fullerton Arboretum

Well.... Another weekend, another day bored. I had been wanting to hit up the Cal State Fullerton Arboretum for the last month. When I went there the last time, all I had was my black and white film and my SLR. This time around, it was a bit harder finding anything to take pictures of, but I was able to find a few things.

The last shot with the dragonfly is one that I've been wanting to take for awhile now. Ever since, I'd seen the awesome shot that JayDee, over at the blog Jay Dee in Japan, took of an incredible looking red dragonfly. For some reason, those are probably  my favorite wild animal/insect ever.

Next weeks pictures are going to be from a roll of film that took me months and months to shoot, so it should be interesting since I have no clue what is on it except for the last 3 pictures. Thanks for checking out my pictures!! :-)

Yeah, those turtles were bad ass and posed for me unlike those butterflies that were teases. I was actually surprised to see them there. I wonder if somebody didn't want them as a pet anymore and dropped them off there. That first one was a real gamble. I'm glad somebody other than me liked it.

Thanks for dropping by Chris! Always appreciated.
LOVE the prickly pear, sago palm, & agave!!! I'm a sucker for cacti! :-D Beautiful photos!

Thanks Natalie! The sago palm and the agave plants were probably the coolest looking plants there, except for the 50 foot giant tree they had there. I took a picture of that with my phone, but haven't posted it yet.
Prickly pears, yum!!! Oh man I would have tried to cut them down and eat them. Also the turtles are adorable. I like how you captured the shadow of the turtle under the water on #2. And the first picture, I really like the angle you took it at.

xD you noticed something I didn't. I didn't notice the turtles shadow until now. That first picture is the real surprise shot! When I was looking at it afterwards, I was like "Man, that one sucks!" Even after I processed it.

How do those prickly pears taste? I've never had one.

Oh, btw before I forget, Was this last weekend the one you came down or is it the next one?
It will be this weekend. I really should start packing. :< Ugh, weddings. Not sure what time we are driving down yet but we will be driving down Friday and the wedding isn't until 4 on Sunday.

Prickly pears are sweet and the flesh is similar to watermelon, very squishy and full of juice. It has tiny seeds throughout that I just eat, too tiny and too many to fuss with spitting them out.
The pic with the 3 artichoke-looking cacti (cactuses?... Oh, fuck it) is sweet, as is the one above it. Do you know what foxgloves are? Have always wanted to take a pic of one.
