Trip of the Week Part 1: Orange, CA

Orange, California. Home of Chapman College, The Block/Outlets in Orange, and many other places ironically located in the city. As soon as I hit the city, it seemed like I was transported into one of those towns in a tv show on the USA Network that are taped in Canada. Like most old time city centers, the majority of it is located on two streets that intersect.

One of the specialties down there are antique shops. I must have seen about 10 of them. If you're looking for a nice place to walk around and maybe take in a few of the local bars, this is the place to go.

I would recommend The Bruery Provisions. Its a tasting room for one of Orange Counties local breweries and a great place to check out our Local Flavors. I would have taken a picture of it, but I wasn't near it when I realized where it was.

Watch for Part 2, from Whittier, which will probably drop on Wednesday morning. Thanks for reading!!

Nice shots! I attended Chapman way back when :p Look forward to checking out part two of your visit to Orange.
Chapman University is a beautiful school. A friend of mine graduated there and I was thoroughly amazed. I think I might do a series on college campuses in Southern California. A few of them that are being remodeled look absolutely stunning.

I actually fixed an error I didn't notice, Part 2 is going to be on Downtown Whittier. Thankfully burn free this week. ^_^

Wow...I knew EXACTLY what you were trying to say since that perfectly describes what follows....my image anyway.

I was expecting too see them recording Psyche, I love that show. Wow... I was finally able to describe a place without much exaggeration.

but the real fun is spying on the Freemason building they have setup there. I did get an old lady giving me a weird look. As if nobody has ever taken pictures there next to a private university known for its visual arts.
Orange seems like a snazzy little place~ I dig some of the buildings. The City Hall is pretty rad.

That first picture of the lamp post almost looks like a tape deck~~ Deceiving!

Idk why but I thought the light post looked like a pair of implants. Not the good ones that some porno chicks have, the weird stubby oddly placed ones that bodybuilder chicks have.

Thanks for the comments!! :-)
I enjoyed your slide show. Nice door. For some reason I liked the squares. And also the arches with the keystone.

Both of those places really caught my eye when I took them. They're the first things I look for, and then I go for irregular shapes or odd placements. Easy and simple on the eyes always works, now remembering that out in the field is my next goal..
My favorite set of pics so far... sincerely.
I was born in Orange, but grew up in Santa Ana, Ho Chi Minster and Garbage Grove. Back then, there were still lots of orange groves around to let people know why it was the city of Orange in Orange County.

You beat me to it, but I did see the lightpost and think 'boobies!'

Ho Chi Minster, I don't think I will ever go back to the real name again. I think I've only seen one real orange grove left, and its a very tiny one stuck right in the middle of Downtown Anacrime. I'll definitely get a picture of it when I make my way over there. I guess I can make time to visit the city I live in, for once.

Thanks for the compliments, I try to convince myself all the time.
